LI-COR eddy covariance systems are fully customizable from a simple single-analyzer system to advanced systems that measure methane flux and meteorological variables. Choose from the options below to fit the needs of your site. A consultant will give you a personalized quote and any additional information that you request.
Begin with open-path and enclosed-path CO2 and H2O gas analyzers designed for basic eddy covariance systems and add the LI-7700 for methane flux measurements if needed.
Low power requirements and simple hardware at a low price. Precision, temperature-controlled optical filters make this gas analyzer the highest performing open path CO2/H2O gas analyzer available. Learn more
An enclosed optical path with precision, temperature-controlled optical filters provide dependable gas density measurements—including dry mole fraction—in the most challenging outdoor environments. Learn more
A heated intake tube improves frequency response of water vapor measurements by preventing water vapor sorption to the intake tube walls. Recommended for humid environments.
The LI-7700 adds methane flux measurements to eddy covariance systems. Methane data are time-synchronized and logged in eddy covariance data sets. Methane flux results are computed in real time on the SmartFlux® System. Learn more
Choose a sonic anemometer to measure wind speed and direction. LI-COR eddy covariance products are strategically designed to give you the flexibility to integrate with a variety of sonic anemometers to fit your exact research needs. All sonic anemometers, including mounting hardware and power and data cables, are available directly from LI-COR with the purchase of an eddy covariance system.
For more information on other compatible options, visit the sonic anemometers product page.
This basic precision anemometer offers measurement speeds of 20 samples per second. Aluminum and carbon-fiber construction. Measures wind speeds from 0 to 45 m/s.
Precision anemometer provides measurement speeds of 32 samples per second. Stainless steel construction. Measures wind speeds from 0 to 65 m/s.
Multipath ultrasonic anemometer performs three independent measurements of the 3D air flow quasi-simultaneously using only one sole sonic anemometer. Optimized for omnidirectional measurements where there is no majority prevalent wind direction.
"Class A" model contains the same features of the "Cage" model but is recommended for areas with a predominant wind direction a majority of the time.
3-axis ultrasonic anemometer with an extended mast that separates the transducer array from the instrument body and wind-tunnel calibrated sensors. Ideal for applications requiring high resolution and 3D wind measurement.
Each eddy covariance system supports a full complement of biological and meteorological sensors through the LI-COR Data Acquisition Module. Data from these sensors are time-synchronized with measurements from the gas analyzer and sonic anemometer and logged in eddy covariance data files so they can be used for gap filling and to interpret flux results.

The Basic Biomet Package includes the essential sensors to support an eddy covariance system. It is the most economical of the packages.
The Standard Biomet Package includes a biomet backup system via Data Retention Module and backup battery, more comprehensive net radiometer, and combined soil temperature and moisture probe.
The biomet system supports nearly any number and type of sensors. If you need additional sensors, we will work with you to put together a package that suits your needs.
The Data Retention Module provides backup logging for slow sensors and system controls that can prioritize data collection, so you can collect uninterrupted biological and meteorological data sets even if the system temporarily loses power.
Leaf Area Index (LAI) describes an ecosystem’s dynamic canopy and is often required when submitting eddy covariance data to worldwide networks. It plays an important role in carbon, water, and energy fluxes. The LAI-2200C is a standalone instrument for manual, non-destructive LAI measurements.
With cellular or satellite communication, you can keep track of your eddy covariance system no matter where it is deployed.
The Cellular Communication System features a Sierra Wireless™ AirLink® RV50X gateway that puts your system online and enables wireless transmission of eddy covariance, soil gas flux, and other data. When your system is online, you can check the status of instruments, transfer raw data from your site automatically or whenever desired, and configure the instruments from your office or home computer.
The Satellite Communication System features a Hughes 9502 Fixed Satellite Terminal that provides additional communications options if your site is not in range of a cellular network. The satellite system also includes an antenna, antenna cable, antenna mounting post, power and data cables, enclosure, mounting hardware, and instructions to configure your gas analyzer and communication system.
LI-COR solar power supplies are robust power sources developed to our specifications by SunWize® Technologies. Complete systems are delivered ready for deployment.
Designed to provide 4 dark-days of operation with LI-COR eddy covariance systems.
Let us know how you want to mount the eddy covariance system. We’ll make sure you have the right hardware.
Protect your investment with the rugged 7900-300 heavy duty adjustable tripod. This sturdy instrument platform provides strong support for eddy covariance systems, meteorological sensors, and enclosures, and can withstand hurricane-force winds of up to 100 mph. The tripod extends to a height of up to 4 meters.
