8200-104 Opaque Long-Term Chamber

The 8200-104 Opaque Long-Term Chamber builds on the trusted and patented technology from the previous generation. This line of long-term chambers withstands the elements with improvements to the design. The 8200-104 accepts industry standard SDI-12 connections to include the sensors and measurements you want at each chamber.

A motorized chamber finished in durable and reflective white enamel rotates away from your soil collar. This allows the soil in the collar to see natural environmental conditions when a measurement is not taking place. The chamber may be left unattended for extended periods of time to make automated measurements, with low power draw (7.5W maximum when opening or closing).

How are LI-COR chambers different?

The 8200-104 Opaque Long-Term Chamber and all LI-COR chambers have been carefully and intentionally designed to minimize their impact on the natural soil activity with consideration toward:

  • Maintaining chamber pressure with ambient air.
  • Achieving air mixing without a fan.
  • Accounting for the impact of altered diffusion gradient on the flux.
  • Minimizing the impact of the chamber on your soil environment.
