Maintenance

Several routine maintenance procedures will ensure that the tripod is stable over time.

Monthly

• Perform a visual inspection for damage or wear.
• Check the orientation of the tripod to ensure that it has not slipped out of plumb and that the mast is level (see Plumb the Mast).
• Check the tightness of each nut and bolt. Tighten each to the torque specification listed in these instructions (see Torque the Nuts and Bolts).
• Check the tightness of the guy wires. Each guy wire should be snug with slight slack. Tighten or loosen the Gripple® connectors to adjust the slack (see Tighten the Guy Cables).
• Check the lightning rod, ground rod, ground wire, and ground connections. Tighten any loose mounts or connections (see Install the Lightning Rod, Install the Lightning Rod, and Install the Ground Wire).
• If soils are corrosive, check the feet and stakes for corrosion. If substantial corrosion is evident replace the feet and/or stakes.

Every 6 Months

• Look for corroded bolts, corroded welds, or other abnormalities. Replace damaged hardware and take appropriate corrective measures if you observe any damaged or worn parts.
